In the FlexForum's workshop on 24 August 2023, members focused on defining the forum's direction for the next 10 months, emphasising the role of FlexForum in advancing New Zealand's energy flexibility. MBIE underscored the forum's importance, backing it with a $20M innovation fund. The session led to the establishment of four pivotal workstreams: Consumer Information, Flexible Resource Integration, Market Frameworks, and Digitalisation, aimed at promoting consumer engagement, integrating flexible energy resources, and fostering digital transformation in the energy sector. The discussions highlighted the critical role of consumer participation and the necessity of securing social license for future initiatives, setting the stage for collaborative efforts towards energy flexibility and innovation.
